Attention All Singers and Instrumentalists!!

During the summer our choirs are taking a much needed break. Music is a gift from God and our summer worship is in need of musical offerings. There is a Sunday service sign up sheet posted on the office window. Please enhance our summer worship with your music. Please submit your selection of music to our Minister of Music, Ellen Schroll, for approval at least one week prior to your presentation.

High School Youth Pool Party

Senior Youth are invited to a pool party, July 11th, 1:00 - 4:00 pm. at the Otis home. Please call Marge Otis if you plan on attending.

High School Youth

Luau Party, Sunday, August 1st, 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at church. Bring a friend and join us for fun and games and great food. For more information call Rhonda Dealey.

A Women's Bible Study

is being held at the church on Wednesdays (June 2 - August 18) at 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. Beth Moore's Bible study of "Daniel" will be presented. Facilitators are Lois Teerling and Jan Sleezer. Cost is $16 per person for the workbook.

Adult Bible Study

meets on Sundays, 9:15 - 10:15 a.m. in the Associate Pastor's office. We are studying the Book of Acts. Materials are provided.

The Shepherd's Cafe

is open on Sat., 4:45 - 6:15 pm and Sun., 9:15 - 11:45 a.m. Refreshments are provided and served by various ministry teams. A free-will offering is received to underwrite the cost of supplies.

Greeters Needed!

beginning Ausgust, 2010! If you and/or your family is interested in serving as greeters, please contact Steve Kirk or the church office. You can sign up to serve as a greeter for any of our weekly worship services. Training guidelines are available to assist you with this ministry.

Nursery Helpers

We are looking for help with the nursery during our Sunday worship services. If you are 16 or older with some experience watching young children, under the age of six, please sign-up to be a nursery helper. We need people who can help when our regular attendant is not available to be here. You will find a sign-up sheet in the nursery, in the folder with the time sheets.

135th Anniversary Team Meeting

The next meeting of our 135th Anniversary Team meeting will be held on Wednesday, July 7th at 7:00 pm at church. Discussion regarding the program and worship service will be held. Anyone who wishes to participate is invited. All input is welcome.

Vacation Bible School Donated

one wheelbarrow of food, 111 cans and four bags of food, to the Lockport FISH Food Pantry. This plus other food donations provided a total of 14 boxes and bags of food. Many thanks to all who provided this.

Lutheran Center in Mexico City

Kent Terry, chair of the Northern Illinois Synod World Hunger Committee, will speak about his recent experiences in Mexico and the work of the Lutheran Church there on Sunday, June 6 at 9:15 am in the sanctuary. Please join us for what will prove to be a fascinating presentation. Preliminary discussion will also be had at this time about a congregational trip to the Lutheran Center in Mexico City in July 2011. For more information, contact Rhonda Dealey.

Spring is in the Air

The Property Ministry Team had a spring clean up on May 8th. Many things were accomplished, but there is a lot more to be done. Please watch for the day and time of our next cleaning day.
